In just one week Dom will complete the biggest challenge of his life – summiting Mount Everest.
Dom has been on his epic adventure for a month and has endured biting winds, lack of oxygen and sleepless nights.
Of course, Dom isn’t just climbing the worlds tallest and most daunting mountain, he is taking the toughest route up – the north side of Everest from Tibet. This is the route that explorers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine climbed in 1924, sadly never to return.
On Monday Dom smashed his fundraising target of £5,000. This is enough money to pay for 10 doctors to , giving them the tools they need to operate on scene. As optimistic as ever Dom has now upped the target to £8,448 which is the height of Everest in meters.
Everyone at Thames Valley Air Ambulance has been glued to Dom’s progress including Events Fundraising Manager, Clare.
“Dom is the definition of a Thames Valley Air Ambulance Hero,” said Clare. “We cannot thank him enough for his hard work, dedication and fundraising.”
The epic adventurer is in great spirits saying “I am under no illusion this is going to be the hardest week of my life. Priority number one is safety. The journey is going to be an incredible adventure, and the summit will be amazing. Let’s see what happens, it’s going to be awesome!”
